From 11 to 13 November, entrepreneurs from the Vidzeme region went on a study visit to Sweden to learn about inclusive workplace solutions and social entrepreneurship practices first-hand. The visit took place within the Interreg project “Stronger Together”, which aims to support employers in building a more inclusive, people-centred and sustainable work environment step by step.
Why is this visit important for companies?
By joining the project, companies gain:
- new knowledge and practical tools for creating an inclusive work culture;
- an opportunity to strengthen their social responsibility and reputation by becoming part of positive societal change;
- practical support in employee integration and onboarding processes;
- sustainable solutions for addressing labour shortages by adapting employment models to the company’s needs.
These aspects are becoming increasingly important as companies across Europe seek new ways to attract employees, strengthen teams and foster sustainable development.
Sweden is known for its well-developed social entrepreneurship ecosystem and practices that support the integration of people with diverse challenges into the labour market. During the visit, participants:
- met with local organisations and businesses,
- heard inspiring stories of successful integration,
- learned about tools and materials designed for employers,
- built new connections with entrepreneurs who prioritise inclusive and socially responsible development.
Training Day in Norrköping: Knowledge, practical solutions and cooperation
On 12 November, an intensive training and collaboration day was held in Norrköping, where employers explored Sweden’s experience in working with supported target groups. The programme included several thematic lectures, group work sessions and practical tasks, such as:
- a lecture on inclusion principles in Swedish workplaces and social enterprises,
- real-life stories of individuals on their path to employment,
- discussions on common challenges and possible solutions,
- practical tools and support mechanisms for employers,
- workshops “From Idea to Action”, where companies worked with real case examples to find practical solutions,
- networking and cooperation-building with Swedish partners.
The visit concluded with the recognition that Sweden’s experience is highly valuable and applicable to the daily practice of Latvian companies. Participants expressed strong interest in the “Employee as a Service” initiative, which offers a sustainable and supportive employment model that helps reduce labour shortages and strengthens corporate social responsibility.

ℹ This activity was supported as part of STRONGER TOGETHER, an Interreg Central Baltic Programme 2021-2027 project co-funded by the European Union.
