The experience of the Erasmus+ project <strong>Sustainable Advocates<\/strong> in Latvia, Sweden and Ireland shows that information alone is not enough \u2014 young people also need opportunities to try sustainable choices in practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Based on the results of the project\u2019s <strong>30-day \u201cNo Fast Fashion\u201d Challenge<\/strong>, partners in Latvia, Sweden and Ireland developed <strong>nine National Policy Briefs \u2014 three in each country<\/strong>. The briefs bring together young people\u2019s experiences, identify key barriers to more sustainable clothing consumption, and provide practical recommendations for VET institutions, municipalities, policymakers and other relevant stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A Shared Challenge, Different Solutions<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each country\u2019s Policy Briefs are based on the results of the national 30-day challenge and the specific national context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In Latvia<\/strong>, the briefs focus on integrating sustainable clothing consumption into green skills education, reducing impulsive purchases in the digital environment, and strengthening habits related to reuse, repair, borrowing and clothing swaps.<br><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/developvalmiera.lv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/EN_Sustainable-Advocates_Activity-4_Policy-Briefs-from-Latvia.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Policy Briefs from Latvia.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In Ireland<\/strong>, the materials explore the pressure created by digital advertising and shopping apps, the accessibility of second-hand and clothing swap options, and the need to strengthen practical clothing care, repair and reuse skills within vocational education.<br><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/developvalmiera.lv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/EN_Sustainable-Advocates_Activity-4_Policy-Briefs-from-Ireland.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Policy Briefs from Ireland<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In Sweden<\/strong>, the Policy Briefs address the integration of sustainable fashion consumption into VET, the impact of digital marketing and product transparency, as well as the expansion of repair, upcycling, second-hand and clothing swap opportunities.<br><a href=\"https:\/\/developvalmiera.lv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/EN_Sustainable-Advocates_Activity-4_Policy-Briefs-from-Sweden.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Policy Briefs from Sweden.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>From Insights to Action<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Policy Briefs do more than describe the problem. They provide practical recommendations \u2014 from using short behavioural challenges in education and strengthening digital consumer literacy, to organising clothing swaps and repair workshops, building partnerships with second-hand and circular economy initiatives, and embedding sustainable consumption more strongly into vocational education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The materials are particularly relevant for <strong>VET leaders and educators, curriculum developers, municipalities, youth organisations and circular economy stakeholders<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We invite you to explore the Policy Briefs from all three countries, compare the different approaches, and use the recommendations in your own work.
