Every journey of change begins with a moment of insight \u2013 a simple sentence that can transform a person\u2019s life.
For Mattias Persson<\/strong>, those words were: \u201cYou are good enough.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diagnosed with ADHD and struggling with addiction, Mattias spent many years feeling excluded, isolated, and lacking confidence. His upbringing in Malm\u00f6 was marked by instability; a divided family and early traumas left deep scars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI lost trust in myself,\u201d he recalls. \u201cI no longer believed I was capable of anything.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With support, Mattias managed to break free from his addiction. Later, when he was given the chance to participate in work training and meet people who recognised his strengths, everything changed. Their belief in him gave him the courage to start over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, Mattias is employed at Sk\u00e4ggbyr\u00e5n<\/strong>. Sk\u00e4ggbyr\u00e5n offers work-training opportunities for people who have been far from the labour market due to burnout, neurodivergent conditions, or other medical reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy life story is my greatest strength,\u201d Mattias says proudly. \u201cI used to sit on the other side of the table \u2013 now I\u2019m the one helping others. People need to be seen for who they are, not for what is written on a piece of paper.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sk\u00e4ggbyr\u00e5n is built on a philosophy of trust and inclusion. The company not only develops digital solutions but also creates opportunities \u2013 proving that meaningful work can truly change lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTwenty years ago in Sweden, many people with disabilities hid away,\u201d Mattias reflects. \u201cTimes have changed \u2013 and we are part of that change.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mattias\u2019 journey is a powerful example of what the Stronger Together<\/strong> project stands for: promoting inclusive workplaces, empowering individuals, and building bridges between employers, educators, and social organisations. Through international cooperation, training, and dialogue, the project helps redefine what inclusion means \u2013 in practice, not just in theory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At its core, Stronger Together is about belonging, dignity, and second chances. It reminds us that true inclusion begins with trust \u2013 and that everyone, regardless of background or ability, deserves the opportunity to grow and contribute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This activity is carried out within the framework of STRONGER TOGETHER<\/strong>, an Interreg Central Baltic Programme 2021\u20132027 project co-funded by the European Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
