The event gathered representatives from the <strong>Valmiera Development Agency, the Latvian Samaritan Association, and the East Gothland Economic Association (Coompanion \u00d6sterg\u00f6tland Ekonomisk F\u00f6rening).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main objective of the meeting was to present two significant materials developed during the project&#8217;s second phase:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>A training program<\/strong> for people with intellectual disabilities and other special needs, aimed at developing work-related skills, improving self-confidence, and fostering independence.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Guidelines for developing an anti-discrimination policy<\/strong> to support employers and organizations in creating an inclusive, equal, and respectful work environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The meeting in Valmiera also welcomed three experts from Sweden\u2014<strong>Anna Soltorp (Coompanion Kalmar l\u00e4n), Sofia Larsson (Attention \u00d6sterg\u00f6tland), and Ragnar Andersson (Coompanion \u00d6sterg\u00f6tland).<\/strong> Their expertise and experience played a valuable role in refining the training program, helping to develop effective methods for greater workplace inclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The two-day program featured <strong>practical examples from Latvia, discussions on the developed materials, and opportunities to pilot the project\u2019s new concept,<\/strong> <strong>\u201cEmployee as a Service.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The materials were presented by the project working group representatives: <strong>Karl\u012bne J\u0101kabsone<\/strong>, the <strong>project manager of \u201cStronger Together\u201d at the Valmiera Development Agency,<\/strong> and <strong>Alise V\u0113rse,<\/strong> a <strong>social entrepreneurship expert.<\/strong> Swedish partners provided professional feedback during the meeting and shared insights on similar initiatives in the Nordic context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/developvalmiera.lv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Stronger_Together_FTF_Valmiera-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30915\" srcset=\"https:\/\/developvalmiera.lv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Stronger_Together_FTF_Valmiera-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/developvalmiera.lv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Stronger_Together_FTF_Valmiera-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/developvalmiera.lv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Stronger_Together_FTF_Valmiera-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/developvalmiera.lv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Stronger_Together_FTF_Valmiera-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/developvalmiera.lv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Stronger_Together_FTF_Valmiera-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Meeting of project partners\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 Valmiera Development Agency, Samaritan Association of Latvia, and \u00a0Coompanion \u00d6sterg\u00f6tland and Swedish experts in <\/em>Valmiera.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A key discussion topic was the <strong>\u201cEmployee as a Service\u201d model<\/strong>, where partners analyzed the implementation possibilities and challenges in both Latvia and Sweden, considering public attitudes and necessary support mechanisms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the meeting, participants visited <strong>group apartments in Valmiera<\/strong> and <strong>support centers \u201cSolis\u201d (Valmiera) and \u201cLaiva\u201d (R\u016bjiena and Mazsalaca),<\/strong> where <strong>Inga Brente Mieze<\/strong>, a representative of the <strong>Latvian Samaritan Association,<\/strong> introduced the daily work, support service structure, and integration opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The meeting concluded with the presentation of the <strong>Memorandum on Promoting an Inclusive and Equal Work Environment<\/strong>\u2014a shared vision outlining future steps to strengthen inclusive employment solutions in Latvia and Sweden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>\u201cStronger Together\u201d<\/strong> project is implemented with the support of the <strong>Interreg Central Baltic Program,<\/strong> fostering cross-border cooperation, equality, and opportunities for everyone to participate in the labor market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"228\" data-src=\"https:\/\/developvalmiera.lv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/VEktorfaili-_-uz-svg-2-1024x228.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30882 lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1024px;
